DICE/EA have released the Battlefield 3 Beta and as of today it is OPEN to the general public
First, you need to install the Origin client, which is EA's stab at an online-distribution platform
Once installed, go to the Store tab of Origin and click the Free Games link to find the BF3 Beta.
Many videos have been posted of trailers and game play for the past few months and now we all get a chance to test drive this awesome game.. The Beta's Caspian Border map shows off the beautiful graphical overhaul the game received from prior installments - though this map has restricted access in the beta. The Metro map is completely playable in Rush mode and is an excellent example of the new Frostbite 2 game engine. The beta is a tab bit buggy at the moment, as expected, but has a lot of potential.
The BF3 Open Beta will run from today, Sept. 27 2011 and will close on October 10th.
It is open to anyone with a PC, XBox 360, or a PS3.
The full game will be released on 25 October. See you on the battlefield!!
