battlefield 3 image

Battlefield 3 is out - Reloaded has released a whopping 13GB release which allows for singleplayer action.  This is great as it gives us "tech-savvy" folks a chance to rock the solo player game before we decide if its kick ass enough to spend some premium hard-earned cash on. The Limited Edition is a must-have for all die hard battlefield fans as it includes the Back to Karkland Expansion Pack.

Here's install notes from Reloaded's NFO...

Portal 2 Soundtrack is FREE!!

Portal 2 Soundtrack songs to test by free

Portal 2 soundtrack is available for download! The masters of gaming have announced, yet again after many delays, that the "Peer Review" DLC will be out soon!  In the meantime, Get your cYber-PHunk on with the third volume of the Portal 2 Soundtrack.

Posted by the Portal Team on
Anyway, the third and final volume of Songs to Test by is now available to download. We're not sure how many times the last two volumes were downloaded--five times, maybe, or six, if we had to guess--but according to the number currently being sky-written by a plane outside Valve's windows it was actually two million. Make it two million and one now.

Oh yeah, by the way, before we forget, the first Portal 2 DLC, "Peer Review" will be out next Wednesday. For free.

Play Battlefield 3 Open Beta NOW!!

DICE/EA have released the Battlefield 3 Beta and as of today it is OPEN to the general public
First, you need to install the Origin client, which is EA's stab at an online-distribution platform
Once installed, go to the Store tab of Origin and click the Free Games link to find the BF3 Beta.

Many videos have been posted of trailers and game play for the past few months and now we all get a chance to test drive this awesome game.. The Beta's Caspian Border map shows off the beautiful graphical overhaul the game received from prior installments - though this map has restricted access in the beta. The Metro map is completely playable in Rush mode and is an excellent example of the new Frostbite 2 game engine. The beta is a tab bit buggy at the moment, as expected, but has a lot of potential.

The BF3 Open Beta will run from today, Sept. 27 2011 and will close on October 10th.
It is open to anyone with a PC, XBox 360, or a PS3.
The full game will be released on 25 October.  See you on the battlefield!!

Intrigue. Engage. Inspire.

When we heard the buzz surrounding the new role video games are playing in education, we had to throw our hat in the ring. Today, innovative educators are finding ways to incorporate Portal™ and Portal 2 into their classrooms—helping teach physics and critical-thinking skills. It’s eye-opening to see how video games can be used in amazing and unexpected ways to help educate our next generation.
One of the biggest challenges in teaching science, technology, engineering, and math is capturing the students’ imaginations long enough for them to see all of the possibilities that lie ahead.
Using interactive tools like the Portal series to draw them in makes physics, math, logic, spatial reasoning, probability, and problem-solving interesting, cool, and fun which gets us one step closer to our goal—engaged, thoughtful kids!

Portal is free. Free on the Mac. Free on the PC. But only until September 20th. So you only have a few days to decide if your free copy of Portal is worth the price they're currently charging - which is you ever-so-slightly moving your index finger just barely enough to click the big red button below.

Portal is FREE until May 24th on Steam!!

Get Portal is Free

Portal used to cost money. Until May 24th, it's free. End of story.

Well, technically speaking, there are some strings attached. Fortunately, they're entirely decorative. We just like the way they look, swaying in the gentle breeze created by a million people simultanously fainting from shock at the news that Portal is free. Now you have no reason not to try Portal.
"I have a reason," some of you are probably typing into an angry email. "You see, sir, I own a Mac."
Well guess what: For the first time ever, Portal is also available for the Mac.
"Capital news! But the excellent puzzle adventure Portal won over 40 Game of the Year awards; Surely it must cost at least five or six hundred dollars."
You'd think that, especially since it actually won over 70 Game of the Year Awards. But, like we keep saying, Portal is free. Free on the Mac. Free on the PC. But only until May 24th. So you only have a few days to decide if your free copy of Portal is worth the price we're currently charging - which is you ever-so-slightly moving your index finger just barely enough to click the big red button below.
